Background: Since 2012, Universal Analytics (UA) has been Google’s main web analytics service. In October 2020, Google released their new analytics service, Google Analytics 4 (GA4). For the last two years, Google has allowed you to keep using UA. But they announced that UA will stop collecting and displaying new data July 2023.

Context: We will lose a decent amount of data and specific tracking in the switch from UA to GA4, and gain some new perks. But many feel the cons of GA4 outweigh the pros.

Unlike many other domain registration services, you can’t use Google Domains to actually host your site (except with Google Sites, which is meh). You’d need to use something like WordPress or Shopify to actually host your site.
